The most recognizable feature is the densely populated area around the Nile. The North African composites are otherwise dominated by the traces of oil and gas extraction, especially in the Niger delta, Algeria and Libya. In the equatorial area, radiance information is more noisy than in other regions due to the dense cloud cover.
